The origin of Chen Fu Ji can be traced more than fifty years back to Singapore's Chinatown. Founded by two sisters, it started as foodstall inside a coffee shop (a kind of local eatery largely patronised by the middle-lower and the blue collared class in those days), selling laboriously prepared but extremely delicious fried rice. In the 1980s, the reputation of the fried rice had grown so strongly that a Japanese customer of the two sisters employed the two sisters to work for his restaurant at Erskine Road. Since then, the restaurant had changed hands more than once due to management complications. Realizing the market potential of the Chen Fu Ji fried rice in Singapore and beyond, Mr Roger Koh our present CEO boldly bought over the restaurant in early 1995. He further enhcnaced the presentation and flavor of the fried rice through a series of experiments and refinements with the help og higly gifted chefs.
